The President of the Northern Technical University is hosted by the American University of Sharjah.

At the kind invitation of the Dean of the College of Engineering at the American University of Sharjah, Professor Dr. Fadi Aloul, the President of the Northern Technical University, Professor Dr. Alia Abbas Al-Attar, met with him at the headquarters of the College of Engineering at the American University of Sharjah. During the meeting, the possibility of academic cooperation between the two universities was discussed in various fields, including:
* Exchange of students and faculty members.
* Conducting joint research.
* Organizing conferences, seminars and workshops.
* Developing curricula.
The two sides agreed to form a joint committee to study the possibility of cooperation in the above-mentioned fields and to develop a detailed work plan.
