Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Alia Abbas Ali Al-Attar, President of the Northern Technical University, and under the supervision of Assistant Professor Shahla Abdel-Wahab Abdel-Qader, Dean of the Technical Institute of Mosul, a workshop was held entitled “About Optical Fiber, Its Types and How to Connect It” in cooperation between the Computer and Internet Division and the Department of Electronic Technologies, It was delivered by Mr. Muhammad Khairy Hussein, the head of the division, in the presence of a number of the department’s employees.

In which the lecturer dealt with an overview of optical fibers and how to connect them and the most important basic differences between their types as well as their uses.

The importance of these optical fibers lies in the fact that it is one of the modern technologies that are used in communications and data transmission at high speed, and all current systems depend on it.
