The Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Prof. Dr. Nabil Kazem Abdel-Saheb, confirmed the readiness of universities and their readiness for full attendance in the next academic year 2023/2022.

This came while presiding over a meeting of a number of advanced owners that included the Ministry’s advisor, the head of the scientific supervision and evaluation body, and directors of the departments of studies, planning, research and development, missions, cultural relations and private university education, where he highlighted a number of draft decisions related to preliminary and higher studies, and directed the overture to the Supreme Committee for National Health and Safety. Regarding the readiness and readiness of all universities for full attendance in the next academic year, taking advantage of modern educational technologies and employing them in an appropriate manner.

The Minister of Education stressed the need to adhere to the legal contexts determined by the legislation and instructions in force in dealing with cases in both governmental and private universities and colleges, and to intensify the work of the specialized committees in the scientific supervision and evaluation system in the field of comprehensive evaluation of institutions and their educational systems, the university environment and its infrastructure and the level of scientific and administrative performance And follow-up the course of evening studies in universities.

During the meeting, he stressed the importance of the file of scientific promotions in private universities and colleges, and taking into account the scientific and legal contexts in the decisions taken by university councils in this regard.

The attendees reviewed a number of data related to graduate studies programs, the number of applicants currently, the file of developments and the appropriate timings for them, as well as providing opinions and suggestions about the general framework of the new draft guide for universities recommended for study outside Iraq and the academic standards adopted in determining those universities and the basis for classification according to their results in international rankings.
