Under the patronage of His Excellency the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Prof. Dr. Nabil Kazem Abdel Sahib, and the supervision of the President of the Northern Technical University, Prof. Dr. Alia Abbas Ali Al-Attar, the activities of the first international scientific conference for sustainable development technologies were launched today at the Northern Technical University under the slogan “Investing clean energy is our way to a sustainable future.” In cooperation with the University of Nineveh, Tikrit, Basra, Al-Noor University College.

The activities of the first day opened with a speech by the representative of His Excellency the Minister, Prof. Dr. Osama Al-Mashhadani, President of the University of Nineveh, carrying with the wishes of His Excellency the Minister for the success of the conference because of its importance in simulating the requirements of the modern era in the quest to transform into a clean sustainable environment according to the plan drawn up by our university in particular and for our dear country In general, it was followed by a speech by the president of our university, saying:

We meet today in a morning renewed by giving and full of creativity from the land of Nineveh in this blessed scientific forum, in which the vision of our university towards a sustainable future, a safe environment, and comfortable life for our children and grandchildren is embodied. Because of the unparalleled success of our university for our second international conference on renewable energies, which was held in Kirkuk governorate, we proudly launch the proceedings of our first international conference on sustainable development techniques and from the land of Mosul Al-Hadba to draw a road map for creating a clean green environment, achieving the sustainable development goals to meet the challenges of climate change that the year is witnessing In general, and Iraq in particular, and from this podium, I call on all researchers and academics to take upon themselves the responsibility of this country

Amid the challenges it faces, which negatively affected our reality in terms of desertification, increasing barren areas, global warming, increasing rates of disease, and other negative effects, the efforts of researchers resulted in the participation of 130 researchers from different countries of the world, including (Finland – Britain – Malaysia – India – Egypt – Tunisia ) As well as our beloved Iraqi universities, determined to come up with recommendations to achieve the goals of sustainable development.

The conference was attended by a number of the presidents of Iraqi universities, the presidents of the three technical universities, and the presidents of the universities of Nineveh Governorate (Mosul, Hamdania, Tal Afar), as well as the great supporter of Al-Noor University College and the Turkish Consul General, several representatives, academic professors of universities and a large number of employees of Iraqi universities, participated in Our conference has many speakers from international countries, where the conference dealt with a group of researches concerned with waste recycling and others dealing with the transition to clean energy, to transform the environment into a sustainable and clean environment, knowing that these researches will be published within the international Scopus containers.
