The Health and Medical Technical College / Kirkuk organizes a panel discussion entitled (Clean Energy, Reducing Gaseous Emissions and Its Impact on Human Health and the Environment)

Under the patronage of the President of the Northern Technical University, Prof. Dr. Alia Abbas Ali Al-Attar, and under the supervision of the Dean of the Health and Medical Technical College / Kirkuk, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Yawuz Nour El-Din, the college organized an electronic panel discussion entitled (Clean Energy, Reducing Gas Emissions and Its Impact on Human Health) through the (Fcc program):

The lecture is delivered by:

  1. The teacher, Dr. Raed Mujbel Abdullah
  2. The teacher, Dr. Zainab Khurshid Rashid
  3. Assistant teacher Hasna Saleh Khalaf

The seminar dealt with the definition of clean energy, how clean energy works, and the impact of clean energy on the environment and human health.

The seminar showed that clean energy is considered part of the world’s energy future, as clean and renewable resources also preserve the world’s natural resources, and reduce the risks of environmental disasters such as fuel spills or problems associated with natural gas leakage through diversification of fuels and through various power plants that use different sources of energy. Different energy, therefore, reliable energy sources can be created to enhance energy security and ensure that there is enough to meet our requirements, which gives a positive impact on human health.

The workshop showed the basic requirements for a healthy environment, which are:

  • clean air.
  • Safe and sufficient water.
  • Adequate and healthy food.
  • Safe and secure settlements.
  • Stable global environment.

The episode came out with the following recommendations:

  1. Addressing the links between health and the environment.
  2. Engaging the public and private sectors, researchers, relevant stakeholders, and citizens to create partnerships that can stimulate innovation, clean technology, innovative financing, and the dissemination of good practices.
  3. Take action at all levels of management to: detoxify the environment, decarbonize the economy, decouple economic activity from current levels of resource use, and ecosystem degradation, and change unhealthy lifestyles.
  4. Strengthen the evidence base through better measurement and monitoring frameworks, support platforms concerned with the environment and health research, and collect, analyze and use data disaggregated by sex, age, and other relevant variables on a regular basis.
  5. Raising awareness of the main environmental and health risks and exposure to them, and developing adequate communication and education strategies and policies.
