The General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers, in collaboration with the Ministry of Higher Education, is organizing an initiative to develop government communication.

The General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers, together with the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, has launched a pioneering initiative aimed at developing the skills of media professionals working in the field of government communication within educational institutions.

This initiative is sponsored by the Minister of Higher Education, Dr. Naeem Al-Aboudi, and supervised by the President of the Northern Technical University, Dr. Aliyah Al-Atar. It included a training course titled “The Role of Government Communication in Developing Media Skills in Educational Institutions.”

The course, held on October 9 and 10, 2024, in the Scientific Forum Hall of the Northern Technical University, focused on the importance of formulating innovative communication strategies within educational institutions to enhance the effectiveness of communication with the public and improve the transmission of government messages.

In this context, the media and government communication team from the General Secretariat and the Northern Technical University discussed mechanisms to enhance government communication within the university’s colleges and institutes. The meeting resulted in several important recommendations, including “the establishment of a media monitoring unit within the government communication department in the media sections” and “the investment in artificial intelligence applications to develop media performance.”

It is noted that this initiative is part of the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers’ strategy to enhance the role of government communication as an effective tool for achieving sustainable development goals, with a focus on supporting higher education institutions in improving their communication channels with the community and reinforcing transparency in media performance.
