The Agricultural Technical College organizes a workshop to discuss the strategy of combating violent extremism leading to terrorism

Under the patronage of the President of the Northern Technical University and the supervision of the Dean of the Agricultural Technical College, Dr. Abdul Barr Ahmed Nouri, the Psychological Counseling and Educational Guidance Unit at the College organized a discussion workshop entitled (Strategy for Combating Violent Extremism Leading to Terrorism)

The lecture was given by:

  • Dr. Ziad Abdul-Wahhab Abdullah Al-Nuaimi / Assistant Professor of Public International Law, Human Rights Law Branch
  • Dr. Mohamed Ezzat Fadel / Assistant Professor of Constitutional Law, General Branch

The workshop included a detailed explanation and clarification of the strategy to combat violent extremism leading to terrorism.

The workshop dealt with:

  1. Preventing violent extremism leading to terrorism.
  2. Respect for human rights and the rule of law.
  3. Facilitating access to job opportunities.
  4. Promoting comprehensive education and culture that would promote and spread the values ​​of tolerance, diversity, and acceptance of others, and develop a moderate and tolerant religious discourse.
  5. Strengthening educational approaches and dialogue to build resistance to extremism by promoting a culture of integration and peaceful coexistence and establishing mechanisms for cooperation and consultation to manage common challenges and potential tensions within societies.
  6. Enhancing the role of women in preventing extremism by promoting respect, cooperation, and equality in relations between men and women.
  7. Addressing the social, economic, political, and intellectual factors leading to the spread of terrorism by identifying political and economic opportunities for communities prone to extremism and polarization by providing opportunities for discussion and analysis that engage various stakeholders in the fight against terrorism.

The workshop was attended by heads of scientific departments, several faculty and staff members of the college, and several other college students.
