The Administrative Technical College concludes a scientific course entitled “The World Trade Organization: Ingredients and Obstacles”

Under the patronage of the President of the Northern Technical University, Prof. Dr. Alia Abbas Al-Attar, and the supervision of the Dean of the Administrative Technical College, Assistant Professor Dr. Sameer Taha Yasseen, the Department of Business Administration Techniques, through Google Meet, concluded a scientific course entitled: “The World Trade Organization: Ingredients and Obstacles”

It was attended by a group of teachers from the Department of Business Administration Techniques, and several students, teachers, and employees of the college and university.

The course aimed to:

Familiarization with the global system through the World Trade Organization, which seeks to regulate the movement of trade in all its forms and diversification of methods, and to manage and monitor the application of the agreed-upon rules of the World Trade Organization for trade in goods and services and others.

The course included the following topics:

  • The concept of GATT and the most important commercial rounds and negotiations of the first and second Uruguay rounds
  • Introducing the World Trade Organization, its objectives, components, and obstacles
  • The role of globalization and the reasons that led to its spread
  • The role and development of electronic commerce, its most important types, and how to deal with it, while identifying the most important benefits and benefits that are gained from electronic commerce. The course was concluded with a scientific test for the participants.

The session came out with a set of recommendations, including:

  • The speed of accession to the World Trade Organization provides the state through mutual agreements and facilities between it and the rest of the member states of the organization, including enhancing the competitiveness of national products and investment expansion.
  • Improving the welfare of the citizen through improving the quality and decreasing the cost of production due to the availability of many alternatives of goods and services.
