Specialized workshop on cybersecurity at the Civil Status, Passports, and Residency Directorate of the Iraqi Ministry of Interior.

Within the framework of the Northern Technical University’s directions, and under the patronage of the President of the University, Professor Dr. Aliaa Abbas Ali Al-Attar, the Continuing Education Center, in collaboration with the Civil Status, Passports, and Residency Directorate, implemented a training workshop entitled:
“Understanding Phishing Attacks and Social Engineering in the Government Work Environment.”

The workshop was held at the directorate’s headquarters and was attended by a large gathering of directorate affiliates of various ranks and employees. It was opened by the Director of the Directorate, Legal Expert Brigadier General Hakam Al-Habo, and was delivered by:

· Prof. Dr. Fawaz Fadhil Ali, Director of the Continuing Education Center
· Dr. Sarmad Rashid Al-Shammari, Department of Missions and Cultural Relations, Northern Technical University

The workshop aimed to raise security awareness among employees, introduce modern cyberattack methods and prevention techniques, thereby contributing to information protection and enhancing institutional work efficiency.

The Director of the Directorate praised the efforts of the Northern Technical University in implementing such distinguished programs that strengthen cooperation with state institutions and support the development of technical and technological capabilities.

This initiative is part of the university’s series of activities aimed at serving the community and enhancing partnership with government institutions.
