Specialized Cybersecurity Workshops Conducted in Government Departments.

As part of Northern Technical University’s efforts to support state institutions and enhance their digital readiness, and under the patronage of the President of the University, Professor Dr. Aliaa Abbas Ali Al-Attar, the Continuing Education Center organized specialized training workshops in collaboration with several government departments, including the Nineveh Governorate Office, the Directorate of Civil Status, Passports and Residency, and the Nineveh Directorate of Education.
The workshops, titled “Understanding Phishing Attacks and Social Engineering in the Government Work Environment,” were held at the premises of the participating institutions and witnessed wide attendance from staff members across various job categories. The sessions opened with an official introductory speech emphasizing the importance of strengthening cybersecurity awareness in government workplaces amid rapidly evolving digital challenges.

The training sessions addressed key aspects of modern cyberattacks, particularly phishing techniques and social engineering methods, with a focus on prevention mechanisms and building secure behavioral practices among employees. This contributes to protecting sensitive data and improving institutional performance efficiency.
The hosting institutions expressed their appreciation for the active role played by Northern Technical University in delivering high-quality training programs that enhance technical skills and strengthen integration with state institutions.
