For the first time at the level of Nineveh Governorate, and under the slogan “The future of our generations and sustainable food security”, the Northern Technical University launches the proceedings of the activities of the first day of the First Food Security Forum

Under the patronage of the President of the Northern Technical University, Prof. Dr. Alia Abbas Ali Al-Attar, and under the supervision of the Assistant President of the University for Scientific Affairs, Assistant Professor Dr. Omar Rafeh Mahmoud, for the first time in Nineveh Governorate, and under the slogan “The Future of Our Generations and Sustainable Food Security,” the proceedings of the first day of the First Food Security Forum were launched today, in cooperation with Rawankeh Foundation for Development, in the presence of the Governor’s advisor, a number of directors of various state ministries, representatives of relevant international, regional and local organizations, presidents of Nineveh universities, a number of military leaders in the province, a number of directors of the province’s departments and dignitaries of the province, and a large gathering of university affiliates and Nineveh universities and stakeholders, the events began With the playing of the Iraqi national anthem and then the university anthem, followed by the speech of the President of the University announcing the launch of the proceedings of the forum, and then the speech of the official of the Rawankeh Foundation for Development, and then the speech of the Governor of Nineveh and the Director of Nineveh Agriculture, after which the forum sessions began, which dealt with several axes regarding food and water security Agricultural security is aware of the challenges of the current situation and strategies Facing climate change and the scarcity of water and food was followed by a discussion of several issues covering the axes of the forum in a dialogue session in which representatives of the ministries of planning, trade, agriculture and water resources, UNICEF representatives, representatives of the World Food Program and representatives of academics, represented by the President of the Northern Technical University were discussed. Several proposals were discussed that would advance the national strategy to address changes in climate and secure food and water for our generations.
