NTU Honors the Elderly and Staff at the State Home for the Elderly with the Scarf of Wisdom

In accordance with ministerial directives aimed at enhancing the status of parents in the family and society, and under the sponsorship, guidance, and presence of Professor Dr. Alyaa Abbas Ali Al-Attar, the university raised today the slogan: “He is not one of us who does not respect our elder” in a joyful family celebration in honor of the elderly residents at the State Home for the Elderly in Nineveh, in cooperation with Nabaa Company and Baytuna Foundation for Culture and Arts. This initiative serves as a message from the university to this segment of the elderly, reassuring them that they are neither isolated nor abandoned; rather, the university is their home, and its doors are open to provide full psychological, humanitarian, and social support to alleviate their sense of isolation.

In this context, the university president bestowed the Scarf of Wisdom upon the elderly as an expression that the home for the elderly is a place of wisdom and good counsel. Additionally, the staff, led by Ms. Ruwaida, the director of the home, were honored for their significant efforts in caring for and attending to the elderly.

It is noteworthy that the Northern Technical University has conducted numerous cultural and educational activities, including courses, celebrations, and educational visits with beneficiaries from state homes under the Directorate of Social Welfare. These activities are part of a plan by the Psychological Guidance and Educational Counseling Division, embodying the humanitarian mission the university adopts in serving the community, which enjoys the support and encouragement of the university’s presidency, represented by the university president. The celebration was also attended by theHi assistant university president for administrative affairs, Professor Dr. Dhunnun Yunus Dhunnun, the deans of the university’s colleges and institutes in Nineveh, several department directors from the university presidency, and a large number of university affiliates.
