In the presence of the President of the Northern Technical University, Professor Dr. Alia Abbas Ali Al-Attar, and a number of representatives of vocational training centers and private sector companies, the university participated in a working session entitled (Verifying the outcomes of the labor market assessment) within the communication project (TAWASOL), which is implemented by the Canadian University Service Corporation and with the support of Canadian government. The session highlighted many topics, the most important of which are:
1) An overview of the Tawasul project and its objectives.
2) Discussing the results of the labor market assessment.
3) The views of technical universities and employers (private sector companies) on the project’s compatibility with the sector and its implementation mechanism.
4) Support opportunities provided by universities and private sector companies for entrepreneurship and business innovation initiatives for youth and graduates.
A number of directors of departments and divisions in the university presidency participated in the session, which included many discussions and initiatives presented by the university president, which confirm the university’s vision and goals in serving the community, developing the research, industrial, and innovative fields and working to reduce the gap between the outcomes of technical education and the requirements of the labor market and the private sector.
