Under the guidance and patronage of the President of the Northern Technical University, Prof. Dr. Alia Abbas Ali Al-Attar, the Department of Media and Public Relations at the Presidency of our university, in cooperation with the Department of Media at the College of Arts / the University of Kufa, organized an electronic workshop via the Zoom platform entitled The Role of Media in Universities and Society, in which Dr. Dhargham Saadi Abdel-Saheb attended. The head of the department addressed several paragraphs, including:

• media jobs
• media tools

Social responsibility of the media

The role of universities through university education is represented in the efforts undertaken by individuals, groups, organizations, or some members of society to improve social, economic, or political conditions.

University functions (cognitive – economic – social)

The workshop came out with several recommendations:

• Scientific forums are not limited to universities, and the community participates in them more effectively
• Focusing on the results of scientific research and putting them in the service of current problems
• Diagnosing and correcting errors and being open to the experiences of international universities in university media units
• Establishing a national council between universities and state ministries to benefit from scientific research.
• Publicizing the scientific achievement from international forums and not limiting it to the websites of universities and the ministry.

A large number of university and government university employees participated in the workshop.
