Northern Technical University organizes an educational symposium on culture and cultural studies

Under the patronage of the President of the Northern Technical University, Prof. Dr. Alia Abbas Ali Al-Attar, and the supervision of Assistant Professor Dr. Omar Rafea Mahmoud, Assistant President of the University for Scientific Affairs, the Department of scholarships and Cultural Relations at the University organized the symposium tagged (Culture and Cultural Studies) in cooperation with Qatar University, and the Narrative and Cultural Studies team participated in it. From the Department of Arabic Language, Qatar University, represented by its President, Prof. Dr. Loay Ali Khalil, the symposium included two sessions:

  1. The first session entitled (Cultural Criticism and Analysis Mechanisms: Applications to the Cultural Sentence), delivered by Prof. Dr. Luay Ali Khalil from Qatar University
  2. The second session entitled (Cultural Criticism and the Legitimacy of Ugly Beautification) was given by Assistant Professor Dr. Mahmoud Khalif Khudair, a teacher at the Administrative Technical College.

The symposium was on the subject of cultural criticism and Arab experiences, and the issue of diligence in the search for a methodology for cultural criticism that preserves it’s scientific and methodology that focused on the cultural sentence or the parallel pattern in beautifying the ugly.

Among the most important recommendations and results of the symposium:

Work on establishing an Arab theory of cultural criticism as well as working on holding seminars and conferences on cultural criticism, as well as urging researchers to learn about the rich experiences in cultural criticism.
