Under the guidance and patronage of the President of the Northern Technical University, Prof. Dr. Alia Abbas Ali Al-Attar, and the supervision of the Assistant President of the University for Scientific Affairs, Assistant Professor Dr. Omar Rafea Mahmoud, the Department of Scientific Affairs – in cooperation with the Studies and Planning Department at the Presidency of our university – organized a workshop on the course system and updating the curricula.

The workshop covered three themes, delivered by:

• Assistant Prof. Huda Abdel Razzaq Yonis / Director of Studies and Planning Department.
• Assistant Prof. Dr. Fawwaz Fadil Ali / Director of the Department of Scientific Affairs.

The topics included:

1. Discussing the topic of curriculum development.
2. The course system.
3. Conditions and controls for developments related to faculties, departments and scientific branches.

The workshop was attended by scientific assistants and officials of the scientific divisions in the formations of the Northern Technical University.

The workshop indicated:

The need to work hard towards developing and modernizing departments and scientific curricula, and preparations for converting the academic system for the first grades into a system of curricula in scientific departments in all university formations.
