Under the patronage of the President of the Northern Technical University, Prof. Dr. Alia Abbas Ali Al-Attar, the Central Library Department at the University Presidency held a scientific workshop entitled “The Internet of Things in Libraries and Information Centers”, the lecture was delivered by:
- Mr. Hussam Abdul Karim Abdullah/Master of Information and Libraries/Department of Central Library.
- Mrs. Ghufran Abdel Karim Farag/Master’s degree in Information and Libraries/Department of Central Library.
They discussed what the Internet of Things is, and how does it work? What is its importance in our life? What are the areas of life in which this system has been applied?
The Internet of Things helps people live and work intelligently, as well as take full control of their lives, providing smart devices to manage their homes…
The workshop also addressed the extent to which the “internet of things” is applied in libraries and information centers. Finally, the workshop reached a number of objectives and recommendations, including:
- Learn about the Internet of Things system that has recently entered the libraries.
- What are the pros and cons of the Internet of Things?
- What are the difficulties that prevent the use of this system in libraries and information centers?
