Under the patronage of Mrs. President of Northern Technical University, Professor Dr. Alia Abbas Al-Attar, and under the supervision and presence of Mrs. Dean of the Technical Institute of Mosul, Assistant Professor Shahla Abdel-Wahab Abdel-Qader, the Scientific Division, in cooperation with the Women’s Empowerment Unit at the Institute, organized the first cultural scientific competition (first round) with the participation of a large number of students from the scientific departments. In the presence of the heads of the scientific departments. The competition included various scientific and cultural questions for the competing students.

The competition aims at :

1. Refreshing students’ ideas with scientific questions of a general cultural nature.

2. Breaking the routine of taking the competition outside the classroom.

3. Increase interconnection between scientific departments.

4. Increase general scientific cultural awareness.

The competition organizing body has expressed its intention to:

1. Establishing more extracurricular activities that develop students’ skills and abilities in general scientific culture and focus on motivating students to participate in local and international competitions.

2. Raising the level of student thinking to creativity through critical thinking.

3. Increasing affiliation to the university through the various activities practiced during students study.
