Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Alia Abbas Ali Al-Attar, President of the Northern Technical University, and under the supervision of Assistant Professor Shahla Abdel-Wahab Abdel-Qader, Dean of the Technical Institute, the Department of Electronic Technologies organized a scientific workshop entitled (The Importance of Sustainable Energy in Reducing Global Warming) delivered by Dr. Ahmed Younis Award / Ph.D. in Physics.

The workshop dealt with identifying the global warming phenomenon resulting from the gradual increase in the temperature of the atmosphere surrounding the earth due to the increase in the emission of greenhouse gases as a result of industrial progress. reduce global warming and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. And also dealt with sustainable or renewable energy is the energy resulting from natural resources that do not run out and are constantly renewed, such as wind, sea waves, oceans, and sunlight, which are available in almost all parts of the world. The use of fossil fuels such as oil, gas, and coal is the main responsible for the emission of greenhouse gases that cause global warming and climate change, as nearly 80% of the energy in the world is produced by fossil and nuclear fuels, while renewable energies or clean energies constitute only about 20% of energy production.

Efforts to reduce global warming have created a strong incentive in the world to increase the use of renewable energy.

The trend for renewable energy is the key to reducing global warming and avoiding the effects of climate change.
