Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Alia Abbas Ali Al-Attar, President of the Northern Technical University, and under the supervision of Assistant Professor Shahla Abdel-Wahab Abdel-Qader, Dean of the Mosul Technical Institute, the Department of Power Mechanics Techniques organized a scientific workshop entitled “Iraq’s Map for Transition to Renewable Energy for a Clean Environment” and took turns giving lectures in both From :

2. Wejdan Ahmed Jalal

The workshop aimed to:

• Exploiting alternative renewable energy sources to protect the environmental climate.
• Keeping pace with the global development in the transition to clean sources of energy.

The workshop came out with several recommendations:

1. Involve scientific staff, academics, environmental experts, doctors, engineers, judges, and teaching staff in universities, institutes, and schools for voluntary work to preserve the Iraqi environment.
2. Reducing gaseous emissions, such as methane, resulting from the combustion of crude oil, which is one of the causes of climate change in Iraq.
3. Legislating a special law for the use of renewable and clean energy, including the use of solar panels in all state institutions, and ensuring waste recycling operations.
