Mosul Technical Institute organizes a scientific symposium on obesity and its impact on the vitality of the body

Under the patronage of the President of the Northern Technical University, Prof. Dr. Alia Abbas Ali Al-Attar, and under the supervision of the Dean of the Mosul Technical Institute, Assistant Professor Shahla Abdel-Wahab Abdel-Qader, the Department of Anesthesia Techniques organized a scientific symposium within the psychological counseling curriculum entitled “Obesity and its impact on the vitality of the body”

The lecture was given by:

  • Jinan Idris Mohamed (Assistant Professor)
  • Hussein Kamal El-Din Ismail
  • Dr. Nada Khalil Ibrahim

The symposium dealt with the diseases caused by obesity, including high blood pressure and the effect on blood sugar levels through the damage caused by high cholesterol to the pancreas, as well as the effect on the body’s arteries, especially the coronary heart arteries, and the occurrence of fatty sclerosis in patients.

The seminar aimed to:

  1. Educating students about obesity and its causes.
  2. Educating students about the health risks of obesity and its prevention
  3. Educating students to diagnose overweight and calculate body mass index.

The symposium came out with several recommendations, including:

  1. Adopting a healthy lifestyle and spreading awareness of the importance of nutrition and distinguishing between good and unhealthy foods.
    1. Reducing the intake of foods rich in calories, such as soft drinks and ready-made foods.
    1. Do the right exercises regularly
    1. Stay away from any harsh diet or any commercial diet (unhealthy and unapproved diet pills.
