Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Alia Abbas Al-Attar, President of the Northern Technical University, and in the presence and supervision of Assistant Professor Dr. Ashti Mahdi Aref, Dean of the Kirkuk Technical Institute, Women Empowerment Committee at the Kirkuk Technical Institute, in cooperation with the Women Empowerment Unit at the Presidency of the Northern Technical University and the Department of Surveying Techniques, organized a symposium entitled “The Role of Women in Islam”.

The seminar is presented by the assistant teacher Amal Nashaat Shaker (Department Rapporteur).

The symposium dealt with the importance of the role of women, their status and rights in society because of their effective role in the progress and success of society in addition to their essential role in other fields. The symposium also dealt with how Islam honored women and granted them many rights in life.

The symposium showed the general view of women across civilizations, as well as in the time of the Greek and Roman civilization, in the era of England, and among the Jews in the past, and among the Arabs in the pre-Islamic era, and how he demonstrated her status and generosity in Islam and made her a high position in Islam.

The symposium aimed to introduce the most important areas in which women have been honored within the human, social and human rights fields, by recognizing their full humanity as men, opening up the field of learning and giving them full financial capacity in all actions upon reaching the age of majority.

The symposium also aimed to explain the most important rights of women in Islam, including the right to equality in humanity, their right to contracts and agreements, their right to education, to own property, to inheritance, to choose a husband, and the freedom to dispose of their money.

At the end of the seminar, the most important tips that help the working woman manage her time were presented.
