Higher Diploma on Brain Tumor Detection Using Artificial Intelligence

The Higher Diploma thesis in Electronic Management Technologies, submitted by Saad Abdulrazzaq Abdulaziz, was discussed at the Administrative Technical College / Mosul, entitled:
“Patient Data Management for Predicting Brain Tumors Using Artificial CNN Networks,”
on Tuesday, February 24, 2026, at Al-Hikma Hall in the college.

The study aimed to develop an artificial intelligence model based on a Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) for the automatic detection of brain tumors using Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) images. The research addressed the key question of whether it is possible to build a model capable of accurately classifying input images and detecting the presence of tumors.

The researcher utilized the Brain Tumor MRI Dataset available on the Kaggle platform. A CNN model was designed and trained after applying preprocessing steps, including image resizing, contrast enhancement, and splitting the dataset into training and testing sets.

The results demonstrated high performance levels in terms of Accuracy, Recall, and Precision, reflecting the model’s effectiveness in distinguishing between healthy images and those containing tumors.

The study emphasized the importance of employing artificial intelligence technologies—particularly deep neural networks—as supportive systems for physicians in the early detection of brain tumors, thereby improving diagnostic efficiency and enhancing the quality of healthcare services.
