Health and Medical Technical College/ Kirkuk organizes a scientific seminar entitled Peptide Transporters

Under the patronage of the President of the Northern Technical University, Prof. Dr. Alia Abbas Ali Al-Attar, and under the supervision of the Dean of the Health and Medical Technical College / Kirkuk, Assistant Professor Dr. Muhammad Yawuz Nour Al-Din, and within the activities of the Department of Medical Laboratory Technologies, the department organized a scientific seminar entitled Peptide transporters. It was attended by the head of the Department of Medical Laboratory Technologies Assistant Professor Dr. Abeer Abbas Ali Al-Attar, and a group of faculty members, in which Dr. (Shatha Abdullah Ahmed) lectured in the department.

The episode showed that peptide transporters play an important role in the process of transporting short peptides in the small intestine and kidneys, and then absorbing them into the blood represented by the Pept1 and Pept2 transporters. These peptide transporters can also be used to deliver drugs and keep them in the body.

The episode dealt with:-

Studying the substrates on which the peptide bond formation reaction depends, as it is based on two parts of the “RNA”, one of which connects to the peptide chain that grows and the other connects to the amino acid to be added to the chain. The ‘peptide chain’ and the ‘amino acids’ are attached to their tRNA via an Ester Bond that binds to an oxygen atom at the CCA-3 ends of the tRNA.
