Hawija Technical Institute organizes a scientific course on “single-celled parasites that infect humans”

Under the patronage of the President of the Northern Technical University, Prof. Dr. Alia Abbas Ali Al-Attar, and under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Omar Khalil Ahmed, Dean of the Institute.

In cooperation with the Rehabilitation and Employment Unit, the Plant Production Techniques Department organized a scientific course on “Single-celled parasites that infect humans”.

The lecture was delivered in the session by the teacher, His Excellency Salman Aziz, and was attended by a number of the Institute’s employees.

The course dealt with introducing several single-celled parasites that cause diseases in humans.

The course showed that there are four basic types of monocytes, each with different characteristics:

  • Each species includes several single-celled organisms that share a different organ in movement than the other species
  • Each type causes specific symptoms

The course aimed to identify the different types of protozoa:

  • The effect of parasites on human health.
  • Learn about preventive and treatment methods.

The session came out with several recommendations:

  • Follow healthy methods in terms of sterilizing water, washing hands, washing fruits and vegetables well.
  • Follow preventive measures to avoid infection with parasites.
  • Refer to the nearest health institution in case of any suspected parasitic infection
  • Full adherence to treatment courses.
  • Spreading health awareness among different segments of society
