Under the patronage of the President of the Northern Technical University, Prof. Dr. Alia Abbas Ali Al-Attar, and under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Omar Khalil Ahmed, Dean of the Institute, the Media and Public Relations Division, in coordination with the Department of Medical Laboratory Technologies at the Hawija Technical Institute, and in cooperation with the Step Reading, Culture and Arts team, organized an educational seminar on (communication sites between Language, media and community awareness). The lecture was delivered by:

• Mr. Mubarak Abdullah Mubarak (Step Team)
• Mr. Ammar Badr Muhammad (Step Team)
• Mr. Ammar Ismail (step team)

It was attended by a number of affiliates and students. The seminar dealt with:

1. The role of the media in daily life as well as in virtual life.
2. The importance of the language, whether it is (Arabic – English – other languages).
3. Using languages ​​on social media to deliver news.
4. Take care to include the appropriate vocabulary when drafting the news.

The symposium indicated the necessity of emphasizing the role of the media in serving languages, especially the Arabic language, and it’s widespread, which resulted in fatal errors as a result of ignorance of its rules, underestimating them, or not observing them under the guise of simplification in the audio-visual media (social media), ignoring that the media is a pivotal actor in Expressing public opinion (intellect and language) and upon it falls the duty to ensure the integrity of languages, especially classical Arabic, as our national language first, and to invest the linguistic and expressive energies involved in it secondly.

The symposium aimed to draw attention to writing and reviewing news with extreme accuracy. Language specialists can also be used before publishing on any social networking site, and vocabulary that is close to the understanding and perception of the recipient can be used.

The seminar came out with the following recommendations:

Users of social networking sites should pay attention to the smallest details, whether they are visual or linguistic, and also know the beneficiary party when publishing any news, in order to use vocabulary and terms that reach and understand directly by the reader.
