Under the patronage of the President of the Northern Technical University, Prof. Dr. Alia Abbas Ali Al-Attar, and under the supervision of the Dean of Al=Dor Technical Institute , the Department of Medical Laboratory Technologies at the Institute organized an online scientific course entitled (types of clinical samples and laboratory diagnosis) and via the Google meet platform, the lecture was given by:

• Assistant Professor Dr. Abeer Talib Abdel Qader.
• Assistant teacher Marwa Malik Khalaf.

and a number of university employees participated in it.

The session included the following topics:

1. Conducting tests on clinical samples to obtain patient health information as part of diagnosis and disease prevention.
2. Collect samples when symptoms appear and save them.
3. Diagnostic methods dealt with samples such as urine, stool, swabs, sputum, csf, and blood culture.

The course aimed:

1. Definition of clinical samples and their types and laboratory diagnosis.
2. Learn about traditional and modern methods of isolating and diagnosing clinical samples.
3. How to conduct tests on clinical samples to obtain patient health information as part of diagnosis and disease prevention.

The session showed the necessity  that:

1. Everyone should take precautions when handling patient samples.
   1. The laboratories that conduct the tests should strictly adhere to appropriate biosafety practices.
   1. Using alternative tests in the absence of such samples.
