Adaptive Leadership and Its Role in Enhancing Organizational Immunity: A Technical Master’s Thesis at the Northern Technical University

A technical master’s thesis in Business Management Technologies was discussed at the Technical Administrative College / Mosul – Northern Technical University, on the morning of Tuesday, 25/11/2025, titled:
“Adaptive Leadership as an Approach to Enhancing Organizational Immunity: A Diagnostic-Analytical Study of the Opinions of a Sample of Employees in the General Directorate of Education in Nineveh.”
The thesis was submitted by Balsam Shafeek Shams Al-Din,
and the discussion took place in Umm Al-Rabeeain Hall at the Technical Administrative College.

The study examined two main variables: Adaptive Leadership, represented by its dimensions (effective communication, empowerment, change management, and organizational structure flexibility), and Organizational Immunity, represented by its dimensions (organizational vaccination, organizational learning, organizational health, and risk management).
The research aimed to diagnose and analyze the role of adaptive leadership in enhancing organizational immunity within the General Directorate of Education in Nineveh by testing the correlation and impact relationships between the two variables.

The study adopted the descriptive-analytical approach as the most suitable methodology. Data were collected from a sample of 330 employees out of a total of 1500, using a structured questionnaire that was validated by a panel of experts. The data were analyzed using SPSS V.26, supported by appropriate statistical techniques to test the hypotheses.

The findings revealed a strong and statistically significant relationship between adaptive leadership and the dimensions of organizational immunity. Adaptive leadership contributed to enhancing the directorate’s ability to respond rapidly to changes, sustain performance, and achieve competitive advantage.
The study recommended adopting adaptive leadership as an integrated strategic framework, developing advanced training programs for leaders, strengthening learning and knowledge-management systems, and reinforcing risk-management mechanisms to promote organizational health.
