Under the patronage of the President of the Northern Technical University, Professor Dr. Alia Abbas Ali Al-Attar, and the supervision of the Dean of the College, Dr. Majid Khalil, the Department of Power Mechanical Technology Engineering organized a scientific visit for third-year students to the Mosul Dam project to enhance the practical field aspect, accompanied by the department’s teaching staff and scientific supervisors: Abdullah Adel. /Assistant teacher, Ahmed Hani /Assistant teacher
The purpose of the scientific visit is a direct field inspection of the parts of the dam and the sites of large infrastructure and injections, and to see the gates up close and the methods of controlling and controlling them, as well as how their maintenance is carried out periodically, as well as learning about the mechanical works inside the dam and their types and seeing the control and control devices and the readings of pressure and temperature sensors inside the dam and tunnels. And the operation of the turbines with a detailed explanation of them and each stage by the professors and engineers supervising the project, and a statement of the instructions for prevention and occupational safety and their importance in the stages of work.
At the end of the visit, the teaching staff and our students thanked the expert, Engineer Riyad Ezz Al-Din, Director of the Mosul Dam, and Mr. Imad Muhammad Jassim, Assistant Director, for the good reception, hospitality and cooperation, as well as Engineer Alaa Ali Taha, the Occupational Health and Safety Officer, Engineer Mohsen Taha Hamad, the Implementation Officer, and Mr. Imad Muhammad.
