With the encouragement and continuous care of the President of the Northern Technical University, Prof. Dr. Alia Abbas Ali Al-Attar, and based on the knowledge integration between the different departments and scientific disciplines, a scientific team from the employees of the Department of Electronics and Control and the Department of Surveying Engineering at the Engineering Technical College of Kirkuk obtained a new patent in the field of artificial muscles and sensing. They are:

• Montaser Idi Sharif, Head of the Department of Electronics and Control Technologies Engineering
• Dr. Muntazer Idi Sharif, Associate Dean for Scientific Affairs
• Assistant Lecturer, Mr. Qaiser Sabah, behind the course of the Department of Electronics and Control
• The teacher is Somaya Faleh from the survey department
• Eng. Anmar Eidi Sharif from the Electronics Department

The researchers were able to design a lightweight and inexpensive artificial muscle that has the ability to shrink by 30% of its original length when exposed to heat, especially hot water. With this invention, the Northern Technical University’s balance of innovations and inventions will increase, which will improve the scientific and practical reality in Iraq and the world.
