Under the patronage of the President of the Northern Technical University and under the supervision of the Dean of the Door Technical Institute, the Legal Administration Techniques Department at the Institute organized a symposium entitled (Guarantees of the Interrogation of the Accused Through the Ages). The lecture was delivered by:

• Teacher Adnan Abdul Karim Khalil / Head of Department
• Dr. Munther Razuki Weiss, a lecturer in the department, and a number of university employees participated in it.

The course dealt with the subject of guarantees for questioning the accused through the ages through knowledge of the provisions and procedural rules for guarantees of questioning the accused in ancient times through the Islamic period and the guarantees of interrogation also in modern legislation.

The topics of the session were:

1. Guarantees of interrogation of the accused in ancient times, with reliance on the customs and traditions that were prevalent at the time.
2. The guarantees of questioning the accused in Islam and how they are transformed into a legitimate right after relying on the Noble Qur’an and the Sunnah of the Prophet.
3. Guarantees of interrogation of the accused in modern criminal legislation through man-made laws adopted by countries in the modern societies of the state.

The session showed the importance of the citizen’s knowledge of the shortcomings and shortcomings in the legal texts related to the guarantees of the interrogation of the accused and the extent of their need for legislative intervention by cancellation or amendment in order to arrive at a just truth in the interrogation.
