The President of the University is on a visit to the American University of West Virginia

On the sidelines of the visit of the President of the Northern Technical University, Prof. Dr. Alia Abbas Ali Al-Attar, to the American University of South Carolina, the President of the Northern Technical University and her accompanying delegation, represented by the Assistant President of the University for Scientific Affairs, visited the Assistant Professor Dr. Omar Rafi Mahmoud and the Director of the Scholarships and Cultural Relations Department Eng. Dr. Harith Akram Hammoudat University of West Virginia University to complete the requirements of the scientific project on “cyber security” submitted by the American IREX organization, which our university won in 2022, based on the invitation submitted by the President of the University, Prof. Dr. Gordon Gee, where West University was chosen Virginia by the IREX organization as it is one of the best universities in this field. The winning project includes training employees of the Department of Cybersecurity Technologies Engineering at our university to acquire skills and modern information in the field of cybersecurity. West Virginia University was founded in 1867 and receives about 20,000 students annually from inside and outside America, as the latest statistics indicate the presence of students from more than 110 countries at West Virginia University and it has approximately 53,000 scientific research in the Scopus container.
The visit included a meeting with university officials represented by the Assistant President of the University, Prof. Dr. David Stewart, and the Dean of the College of Engineering, Prof. Dr. Glen Hiner, and some of the university officials, to stand and see the arrangements related to training and the possibility of twinning the cybersecurity department in our newly created university with the cybersecurity department at West Virginia University so that it can Northern Technical University students from obtaining two degrees, the first from our university and the second from West Virginia University. At the end of the meeting, a memorandum of understanding was signed between the two universities to improve the academic level of the university. In addition to holding joint workshops, seminars, and conferences, and developing postgraduate programs at the two universities by supervising postgraduate students.
Commenting on the visit, the President of the University said that the common desire between the administration of the two universities will contribute to building an atmosphere of academic understanding, and consolidating the scientific conviction of the importance of a legal framework that guarantees building and setting clear paths for scientific, academic and technical work between the two universities, for the interest and benefit of both parties and the interest of students Initial studies, postgraduate studies, and researchers, in order to communicate and review them in order to develop and develop horizons of cooperation and coordination, and build bridges of cooperation between the two sides in order to develop the capabilities of our university, its colleges, and its scientific departments, through the exchange of information and expertise, and the building of scientific specifications and standards that are consistent with scientifically sound standards, as well as the exchange of knowledge and experiences. Scientific and technical to advance the status of academic programs and courses and develop them by quality standards in higher education.
