About the College

The Technical Engineering College of Mosul (TECM), established in 1993, has been dedicated to providing high-quality technical education. TECM is located on the east bank of Mosul, with the Tigris River dividing the city into eastern and western parts. Directly across from the college are two significant historical landmarks: the wall of the ancient Assyrian city of Nineveh and one of its renowned gates, the “Nergal Gate.” Behind this historic gate, the great Assyrian Empire was once established.

TECM has focused on fostering a robust technical educational environment, both academically and practically. This vision is aligned with market needs and aspires to position the college among leading international scientific institutions. One of TECM’s core goals is to deliver high-quality technical education by keeping pace with scientific developments worldwide. Graduates of TECM are well-qualified engineers capable of meeting the demands of the labor market.

Ensuring the quality of outcomes is central to TECM’s mission. Among its top priorities is the preparation of qualified technical professionals at various educational levels (Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees), equipped to work with modern technologies and techniques.

Vision

To build a higher technical education system with a renewed academic and applied framework, where quality is a shared responsibility. This system is designed to meet the needs of the labor market in alignment with the dynamics of the college’s external environment, enabling the college to rise to the ranks of leading international scientific institutions.

Message

To provide high-quality technical education by keeping pace with rapid technological developments and adapting curricula to support the foundations of human development. Graduates gain the skills and experience needed to meet labor market demands through the adoption of quality assurance practices and a clear commitment to achieving meaningful outcomes from the learning process.

Objectives

  • Preparing technically qualified personnel at various academic levels (Bachelor’s and Master’s) who are both scientifically and practically equipped to work with modern technologies. Graduates are ready for the job market due to their early engagement with real-world work environments.

  • Completing the vertical development of existing engineering programs by introducing postgraduate studies such as Higher Diploma and Doctorate degrees.

  • Enhancing horizontal expansion of engineering disciplines by introducing new specializations not currently available at the college, thereby achieving horizontal integration.

  • Expanding education and training by engaging with society and its institutions, to prepare a generation of educated youth capable of contributing to various sectors of the labor market.

  • Fostering collaboration with local, regional, and international scientific institutions to keep pace with ongoing scientific and technical advancements, through information and experience exchange.

  • Developing public-private partnerships by involving external stakeholders in major decision-making processes through participation in the College Council.
