Under the patronage of Her Excellency the President of the Northern Technical University, Professor Dr. Alyaa Abbas Al-Attar, and under the guidance and supervision of the Dean of the College, Professor Dr. Shahab Ahmed Al-Bajjari, the Department of Plant Production Technologies concluded a scientific course entitled “Modern Technologies of Medicinal Plants in Pharmaceutical and Cosmetic Industries.”

• The course aimed to:
Highlight the latest scientific methods and technologies adopted in the utilization of medicinal plants and their applications in pharmaceutical and cosmetic fields.

• The course included scientific and practical topics addressing:
Modern extraction techniques, improvement of active compound quality, safety and quality standards, as well as the role of scientific research in developing plant-based pharmaceutical and cosmetic industries.

• The course concluded with several recommendations, including:

• Supporting specialized scientific research in medicinal plants and activating partnerships between academic institutions and industrial sectors.

• Adopting modern technologies in extracting active compounds to achieve the highest efficiency and quality.

• Encouraging local cultivation of medicinal plants according to sustainable scientific principles to reduce reliance on imports.

• Organizing future courses and workshops to develop the skills of academic staff and students in this field.

• Enhancing awareness of the importance of medicinal plants in pharmaceutical and cosmetic industries while adhering to international safety and quality standards.
