The Agricultural Technical College organizes a symposium on reducing domestic violence.
Under the patronage of the President of the Northern Technical University, Professor Dr. Alia Abbas Al-Attar, and under the supervision of the Dean of the Agricultural Technical College, Professor Dr. Shihab Ahmed Al-Bajari, the Psychological Counseling and Educational Guidance Unit and the Rehabilitation, Employment and Follow-up Unit, in cooperation with the community police in Nineveh, organized a symposium entitled “Reducing Domestic Violence” in the presence of Mr. Dean of the College and his assistants.

• The symposium came out with several recommendations, the most important of which are:
– Activating the role of the family as the basic nucleus in preventing violence in society.
– Activating the role of schools, universities and mosques in order to spread religious awareness and knowledge of rights and duties to reduce violence, as well as spreading legal penalties for those who commit any type of violence.
– Urging community members to communicate and solve problems amicably, and disseminating toll-free lines for the community police 497 and the Directorate of Family and Child Protection from Domestic Violence 139
