Northern Technical University signs strategic memoranda of understanding.

The holy Karbala Governorate witnessed the holding of the Iraqi-Iranian Science Week activities with the participation of more than a hundred universities from both countries, and in the presence of the Iraqi Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naeem Al-Aboudi, and the representative of the Iranian Ministry of Science, Research and Technology, along with a number of university presidents and prominent academic figures, as well as cultural attachés between the two countries, where the Northern Technical University was distinguished by its active presence and the signing of a number of memoranda of understanding with prestigious Iranian universities.

During the event, which is considered a platform for academic cooperation between Iraqi and Iranian educational institutions, the Northern Technical University concluded partnership agreements with prominent technical and technological universities, including:
•Iran University of Science and Technology
•Tehran National University
•Tarbiyat Modares Technical University
•Isfahan University of Technology
•Shiraz University of Technology
•Qom University of Technology
•Bu Ali Sina University
•Lorestan University
The memoranda of understanding focused on strategic axes that included:
•Technological training programs for faculty members.
•Twinning between similar scientific departments.
•International student exchange.
•Cooperation in joint research and studies.
•Organizing international conferences, seminars and workshops.
•Establishing specialized research centers in nanotechnology.
The respected President of the Northern Technical University, Prof. Dr. Alia Abbas Al-Attar, praised the importance of this step in enhancing the university’s international position, noting that the agreements represent a qualitative shift in developing academic and research relations between Iraqi and Iranian universities, as she authorized Assistant Professor Dr. Omar Rafeh Al-Omar, Assistant President of the University for Scientific Affairs, to sign these memoranda. She added that cooperation with leading Iranian universities will contribute to the exchange of experiences and the development of curricula to meet the needs of the local and regional markets.
This participation comes within the vision of the Northern Technical University to enhance international partnerships and raise the level of education and scientific research in Iraq, which contributes to improving the ranking of Iraqi universities in global classifications.
