The Northern Technical University in Service of the Community.

The President of the Northern Technical University honors one of Mosul’s innovators who achieved third place in the Artificial Intelligence competition at the World Robot Olympiad (WRO) in Turkey.

As part of its commitment to supporting young talents and innovators, Dr. Alia Abbas Ali Al-Attar, President of the Northern Technical University, honored one of Mosul’s creative minds, Bara’a Fahmi Al-Qazzaz, a student at Ninawa Secondary School for the Gifted. The student secured third place in the global Artificial Intelligence competition held in Turkey, the World Robot Olympiad (WRO), with his invention of a device capable of detecting breast cancer within seconds.

The Mosul student expressed his pride in this recognition, which he considers an acknowledgment of his significant achievement in the field of Artificial Intelligence, especially on an international level.

During the meeting, Dr. Al-Attar emphasized that the university is committed to nurturing this talent by enrolling him in the College of Computer Engineering and Artificial Intelligence and providing the necessary support through specialized programs and an encouraging educational environment. She highlighted the university’s dedication to reinforcing its role as an academic institution that supports innovation and scientific research, aiming to be a hub for innovators contributing to the advancement of the scientific community.

This recognition was warmly received by the talented student, who expressed his delight and praised the university’s efforts to encourage exceptional students and propel them toward achieving global accomplishments that elevate Iraq’s reputation internationally.
