Through the dedication of the President of Northern Technical University, Professor Dr. Alia Abbas Ali Al-Atar, to support and develop sports activities in the province, she met today with the Deputy President of the Asian and Arab Union, and the Executive Director of Jiu-Jitsu Sports in Iraq, along with the accompanying delegation, consisting of the Subsidiary Union President in Nineveh Province, Dr. Yasser Hassan, the Subsidiary Union Deputy President, Captain Natiq Al-Na’imi, the International Referee and Central Union Member, Captain Abdul Samed.
The President of the University expressed her commitment and support for this sport and pledged the university’s resources to promote sports, engage youth, and guide them towards sports, by the guidance of the respected Prime Minister, aiming to steer the youth away from the scourge of drugs and its evils.
On the sidelines of the meeting, our university hosted the first gathering of the Subsidiary Union for Jiu-Jitsu Sports in Nineveh Province. The meeting was chaired by Master Ala’a Al-Mahdawi, the Deputy President of the Central Iraqi Union, and attended by International Referee Captain Abdul Samed. The meeting included the Subsidiary Union President in the province, Dr. Yasser Hassan, and the Deputy President, Captain Natiq Al-Na’imi, as well as Harith Riyadh Sabhi, a player from the Iraqi Jiu-Jitsu national team.
The meeting discussed the necessity of devising an operational plan to promote and enhance Jiu-Jitsu sports in the province.
