Workshop About: The Psychology of Hacking: Social Engineering & Security Awareness

The Northern Technical University, through its Quality Assurance and University Performance Department, organized a distinguished scientific workshop titled “The Philosophy of Hacking: Social Engineering and Cybersecurity Awareness.” The workshop aimed to enhance information security awareness among students and staff, providing them with knowledge about the latest hacking methods and techniques used in social engineering.

The workshop included an interactive lecture and presentations addressing the concept of “the philosophy of hacking” from a scientific and psychological perspective. It also explored how human intelligence is exploited as a primary entry point for hacking, in addition to mechanisms for strengthening cybersecurity through behavioral awareness and digital prevention.

In her address, the President of the Northern Technical University, Professor Dr. Alia Abbas Ali Al-Attar, emphasized that this workshop aligns with the university’s commitment to building a secure digital culture and developing the skills of its staff and students in the field of information security, as part of the university’s strategy for secure and sustainable digital transformation.

Dr. Ahmed Khalil Ibrahim also presented a practical demonstration of the latest ethical hacking techniques and methods for countering cyberattacks, showcasing real-world examples that illustrate the dangers of social engineering in academic institutions and various sectors.

At the conclusion of the workshop, the participants’ strong engagement and the organizational efforts of the Continuing Education Center in ensuring the success of this specialized scientific activity were commended.
