Under the auspices of the President of the Northern Technical University, Prof. Dr. Alia Abbas Ali Al-Attar, the Women Empowerment Unit and the Department of Media and Public Relations at the University Presidency organized – in cooperation with Bassma Company – the third annual meeting – on the occasion of International Women’s Day. This was followed by a speech by the President of the University, in which she said: Our university used to celebrate annually this occasion out of pride in Iraqi women, so it held a cultural week in celebration of International Women’s Day on the eighth of March of each year and under the slogan “Iraqi women are a partner in sustainable development.” On this day, our fingers fail. To write words that express what is in our hearts for the great pioneering role played by the patient and loyal Iraqi woman for standing side by side with men in all the challenges that our dear country has lived through.
So she proved with all merit that she is the whole of society because it was said about her that she is half of society, but she contributes to building the other half, so then she is the entire society. In the hearts, all times with women become a holiday. Every year, you are stronger than all challenges and aspirations, and every year you are more successful and proud of your achievements.
It was followed by poems that sang the importance of women and an event for the Pioneers Kindergarten. The forum concluded by honoring pioneer women from Nineveh Al-Hadba.
