Northern Technical University organizes an extensive seminar on the role of universities in combating drugs.

Under the patronage of Professor Dr. Alyaa Abbas Ali Al-Attar, the President of the University, the Psychological Guidance and Educational Counseling Division, along with the Security Permits Department, organized a seminar on the role of universities in combating drugs. The seminar featured a presentation by Colonel Abu Hashim Aziz, Director of the Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances Directorate in Nineveh, who discussed the risks of drug abuse and warned youth against slipping into this abyss by highlighting the methods used by dealers to target young people. He emphasized the necessity of cooperation from families and the community by monitoring suspicious cases through the signs and symptoms displayed by users and reporting them for treatment, while also tracking distribution sources to combat this dangerous scourge.

The seminar was attended by Mr. Omar Ibrahim Dallal Bashi, Dean of the College of Computer Technology and Artificial Intelligence, as well as a large number of students from the college, the Water Resources Department, the Chemical and Petroleum Industries Department, and the Technical Institute of Nineveh.

It is worth noting that the Psychological Guidance and Educational Counseling Division is continuing to hold workshops and seminars to explain Article 40 of the Anti-Drugs Law during the upcoming phase of the current academic year in collaboration with the university’s Anti-Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Committee.
