Northern Technical University Organizes an Awareness Workshop within the “I‘tidal” (Moderation) Program

The university is organizing an awareness workshop as part of the moderation program

Northern Technical University, in cooperation with the Directorate of Combating Intellectual Terrorism, organized an awareness workshop within the “I‘tidal” (Moderation) Program.

 

Under the patronage of the President of Northern Technical University, Professor Dr. Alyaa Abbas Ali Al-Attar, the University Psychological Counseling Unit, in collaboration with the Directorate of Combating Intellectual Terrorism, organized this awareness workshop, which addressed the religious dimension and its role in enhancing intellectual awareness and consolidating human values. This activity was conducted as part of a series of initiatives aimed at promoting a culture of moderation and rejecting extremism.
The workshop was held from 12 to 14 January 2026 at the following locations:
•Technical Administrative College / Mosul
•Technical Institute of Administration / Nineveh
•Polytechnic College / Mosul
The workshop was delivered by Sheikh Abdul Hakim Abdul Sattar Al-Badrani, Representative of the Directorate of Combating Intellectual Terrorism.
The workshop addressed several important themes, most notably:
1.Clarifying the concept of moderation in religion and its role in building individuals and society.
2.Warning against extremist ideology and its negative effects on individuals and institutions.
3.Promoting the values of tolerance, dialogue, and acceptance of others.
The workshop also aimed to:
•Raise the level of sound religious awareness among participants.
•Protect students and the academic community from deviant ideas.
•Support the role of educational institutions in intellectual guidance and awareness.
The workshop concluded with a number of recommendations, most notably:
•Continuing the organization of purposeful awareness workshops and seminars.
•Strengthening cooperation among colleges and institutes in the field of intellectual awareness.
•Giving greater attention to moderate religious perspectives within counseling and guidance programs.
