Northern Technical University organizes a symposium on violence against women

Under the patronage of the President of the Northern Technical University, Professor Dr. Alia Abbas Ali Al-Attar, the Women’s Affairs Division and the Department of Media and Government Communication, in cooperation with the Faculty of Law, Al-Noor University, organized a symposium on violence against women

It included three axes: the psychological and social effects of violence
The second is the role of legislation.
The third is the effects of violence on the individual and society.

The symposium addressed:-
The role of Islamic law in preserving women’s rights. And for the social and psychological effects of violence against women, the role of legislation in confronting violence against women.

The workshop aimed to:-
Raise awareness about the types of violence against women, clarify the concept of violence against women, its types, the causes leading to it, the resulting effects, and the role of the family, civil society, and the law in confronting it,
Violence against women is a humanitarian issue that must be at the heart of society’s priorities; It requires cooperation between all concerned parties, government, civil society, media, and family. The symposium concluded: – The necessity of enacting a law to confront domestic violence and joining international agreements to protect women, the importance of education and community awareness in reducing violence against women.
The necessity of providing psychological and economic support to abused women.
Commitment to the principles of Islamic law as it represents a strong fortress in preserving women’s rights and honoring them.
Spreading social awareness regarding granting women their rights stipulated for them in Islamic law and law, away from Western calls and slogans that call for the immoral liberation of women.
Establishing a center to shelter abused women.
