The President of the Northern Technical University, Prof. Dr. Alia Abbas Ali Al-Attar, participates in the closing conference of the Civil Society Engagement Project to Build Sustainable Peace in Nineveh Governorate, which was organized by the Tahrir Association for Development in cooperation with the German Agency for International Cooperation and the Peace Fund under the slogan “Nineveh Permanent Peace”. Through the discussion dialogue on the intellectual extremism prevalent in society and finding ways to combat the addiction of intellectual extremism, specifically in the areas that have been subjected to intellectual terrorism, the Tahrir Association presented a questionnaire for the youth of Mosul, Bajaj, and Tal Afar to determine the extent to which young people are affected by intellectual extremism. On the sidelines of this dialogue session, Her Excellency clarified the role of universities in raising awareness of Society in general and youth, in particular, to highlight the role of academic institutions in society because they deal directly with young people and indicated that the university’s doors are open to civil society organizations that contribute to the rejection of intellectual violence and praised their role in spreading and educating society in this area, praying to God that this conference achieves positive results And to come up with fruitful recommendations for security and stability to prevail in our dear province of Nineveh For the sake of our youth, they are future leaders. The closing conference was attended by several dignitaries of the Nineveh Governorate, the military leadership, and directors of the governorate’s departments.
