Northern Technical University Holds Scientific Seminar on “Dutch Diamond Approach – Triple Helix” to Promote Sustainable Development

Under the patronage of the President of the Northern Technical University, Professor Dr. Aliaa Abbas Al-Attar, and the supervision of the Assistant President for Scientific Affairs, Professor Dr. Omar Rafea Al-Omar, the University organized an interactive scientific seminar entitled “Dutch Diamond Approach – Triple Helix” to promote sustainable development in Nineveh.

The seminar was held on Thursday, April 30, 2026, at Training Center Hall (1) in the Polytechnic College.

This event was conducted in cooperation with VNG International, featuring a Dutch expert from the Municipality of Rheden in the Kingdom of the Netherlands. The expert delivered a specialized presentation on the collaborative model that integrates government institutions, the private sector, academic entities, and civil society organizations, aiming to develop sustainable solutions to developmental challenges—particularly in the fields of agriculture, water resources, and food security.

The seminar was attended by a distinguished group of academics and specialists, in addition to representatives from government institutions in Nineveh Governorate. The event fostered a dynamic and interactive environment that facilitated the exchange of expertise and the discussion of practical perspectives on adopting this model at the local level.

This initiative reflects the Northern Technical University’s ongoing efforts to strengthen its leading role in community service, activate partnerships with international organizations, and contribute to achieving sustainable development while building the capacities of national cadres.
