Professor Alia Ali Abbas Al-Attar, The president of the University, in the presence of the Assistant Chancellor of the University for Scientific Affairs met in her office the UNESCO team to discuss joint work in organizing the campaign against violence against women. Mr. Hamam Talal explained the details of the campaign and the students’ projects submitted in this regard, emphasizing the role of universities in implementing this type of projects that aim at establishing a healthy advanced society in which women have a key role to play. The Presudent of the University pointed to the need to meet with battered women and to try to redress them. She referred to women who are victims of underage marriage, the need to take initiatives in this regard and the implementation of awareness-raising posters that denounce this crime against girls today.
It is worth mentioning that UNESCO is one of the University’s partners that seeks to achieve sustainable development at all levels and has implemented a range of activities and programmes that explore peace, combating extremism, rehabilitating young people and building their capacities since the beginning of this year at our University.
