Under the patronage of the President of the Northern Technical University, Prof. Dr. Alia Abbas Al-Attar, and under the supervision of the Dean of the Technical Institute / Mosul, Assistant Professor Shahla Abdul-Wahab Abdul-Qader, the Department of Information Technology and Libraries, and within the psychological counseling activities, organized a workshop for students of the first stage under the title

“Drugs and the reasons that lead to their abuse and addiction,” with reference to the negative effects and harms they cause to the abuser, the lecture was delivered by Mr. Ahmed Khazaal Salim.

The workshop came out with several recommendations, the most important of which are:

  1. The necessity of educating the people of society that drugs are a hidden weapon used in wars between states in order to transform them from an effective and productive national force into a destructive force that paralyzes the movement of that state and its society and squanders its wealth.
  2. Increasing the awareness of the members of society of the health, social and economic effects and damages caused by drugs to the person who abuses them.
  3. Educating the people of the community to avoid using any kind of narcotics or medical drugs, whatever the circumstances they are going through, and touched on many topics related to the subject.
