Launching the activities of the Cyberbullying Awareness Forum at the Technical College of Engineering, Mosul.
Under the patronage of the President of the Northern Technical University,

Professor Dr. Alia Abbas Al-Attar, and the supervision of the Dean of the College, Professor Dr. Majid Khalil Najm
The Department of Cybersecurity Technology Engineering and Cloud Computing, in cooperation with the Media Division and the Psychological Counseling and Educational Guidance Unit in our college, organized the activities of the Cyberbullying Awareness Forum, which lasts for two days with in-person and electronic dialogue sessions, to keep pace with something necessary in our modern era, as the world is witnessing a noticeable increase in the use of means of communication—social and digital technology in general.
The forum aims to raise awareness of forms of cyberbullying and their negative impact on individuals and societies, in addition to providing the necessary tools and skills to combat this phenomenon.
The forum’s activities included several introductory lectures and an open dialogue with the attendees on the first day. The following were presented:
Definition of cyberbullying and its various forms such as defamation, verbal bullying, online threats, and others. The psychological and social effects of this phenomenon on individuals are also reviewed.
– Analysis of causes and contributing factors: Workshop participants discuss the factors that lead to cyberbullying.
– Anti-cyberbullying strategies: Participants learn about effective ways to confront and deal with cyberbullying, including reporting harassment, promoting awareness among friends and family, and using online privacy and safety.
– The role of society and universities: Attendees will discuss how society and educational institutions can play their role in combating cyberbullying by providing awareness and support programs for victims, in addition to adopting strict policies against bullying.
-Teamwork and cooperation: The workshop encourages interaction and communication among participants to exchange experiences and ideas on how to confront cyberbullying and support each other.
Present during the first day of the forum sessions were:
– Dr. Razan Abdel-Jawad Abdel-Hamid/ Head of the Cybersecurity and Cloud Computing Technologies Engineering Department
– Lieutenant Colonel Ziad Salah Hammadi / Community Police Directorate / Nineveh
– Commissioner Hana Ahmed Jassim/ Community Police Directorate/ Nineveh
– Mr. Dr. Idris Al-Hanafi / Head of the Department of Da’wah and Thought – College of the Great Imam
In conclusion, the Dean of the College presented certificates of thanks and appreciation to the lecturers who allowed the participants to learn more about this negative phenomenon and how to effectively confront it, and build more aware and solidary communities online.
