Epoxy resin belongs to the group of thermosetting resins; These resins are characterized by the inability to reform with heat after turning into a solid material as a result of the formation of long polymeric chains intertwined with each other, which is called cross-linking.

The course aimed to explain that resin or epoxy is a chemical substance that is considered one of the types of thermoplastic solids, with two components: a base (resin) and a hardener (hardener), which is highly adhesive and resistant to friction and chemicals, whether acids, bases or solvents. , where an insulating layer forms when dry. Used as a coating, mortar, or adhesive, the most produced type of epoxy resin is the product of the reaction between (epichlorohydrin) and (bisphenol).
