The Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naeem Al-Aboudi, chaired the ninth meeting of the Opinion Board 2024, in the presence of all its members from the advanced staff and presidents of government universities.
The Minister of Education stressed at the beginning of the meeting the concerted efforts and strengthening of positive steps to achieve the mission of the educational institution and its development goals through the gateway of qualitative excellence in university performance and scientific research, which embodies the identity of Iraqi universities, in addition to its tasks in providing an atmosphere of scientific achievement and serving the community, indicating at the same time that the tireless work of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in internationalizing the university education environment has enhanced the capabilities of university institutions in addressing current challenges and established a direct path to developing scientific institutions and enabling them to achieve their goals.
He urged working with the powers granted to administrative formations and facilitating the completion of procedures in accordance with legal requirements and reducing time and effort in a way that serves the public interest.
The members of the Opinion Board discussed the items on its agenda and voted on the following decisions:*
Approval of the comprehensive electronic transformation of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and its universities and the completion of its work.
▪️ Approval of the disbursement of engineering and professional allocations for holders of higher degrees.
▪️ Not counting the certificate for an employee who provides incorrect information regarding his job as not an employee, whether he obtained it inside or outside Iraq.
▪️ Exempting students from the amounts disbursed within the context of study fellowships and financial aid for those appointed by the Federal Service Council while they are in the language learning period.
▪️ Approval of processing the evaluation of a number of certificates in light of the exclusive powers of the Opinion Board stipulated by law.
The Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naeem Al-Aboudi, concluded the meeting by saying: The new academic year 2024/2025 represents an important opportunity to complete academic programs and embody their effectiveness, calling at the same time on all Iraqi university students to continue to excel in this scientific journey in which knowledge enrichment and community development are achieved.
